Letter to Granddaughter Emma from Grandmother Carolyn Bellue Holly
5/16/2019
Dear Emma:
Congratulations on your successful, distinguished completion of high school!
Your performance and the support and input of your parents have prepared you for the pursuit of your hopes, dreams and ambitions.
Emma, I looked up the meaning of your name: it means beautiful, graceful, complete, universal.
You are all of that and more. You are more because you took what God designed and developed and prospered it through your studies, your diligence, your personal choices and character.
Emma, that gives those of us who love and care about you, who want success and all things good for you, confidence and security as we face opening our hands and hearts and releasing you out into the unknown future.
Remember, your name – you are complete! You are graceful! You are beautiful. Those are elements for a beautiful future.
You are ready, my dear Emma! But, be warned – I used the word unknown above. As smart as you are and as prepared as you are, there will be unplanned – unforeseen events – obstacles. The person that you are has readied you, I am confident. You are complete by design.
You are complete in Christ through your acknowledgement of your need for Him in your life through faith in Him and your acceptance of salivation in Him.
That further prepares you for your exciting plans.
So when you encounter the unknows and seemingly insurmountable hurdles of life, tap into the woman that you are, the God that He is, And your wonderful mother and father and grandparents you have to help you through those for sure days ahead.
We love you – we are proud of you – we are happy/sad for this, your day – We have to let you go.
We want to thank you for giving us pleasure and pride in you.
Congratulations, Emma
Caddie
Giddy-up, Emma! Just as you have trained and readied Indy for when he entered the ring – your parents have trained and readied you!
